ABOUT
This program is not just for seniors. Our Housekeeping program provides light housekeeping for all income levels and anyone requiring our services. We will ensure our clients' homes are regularly cleaned, provide friendly companionship and an extra helping hand around the home. Our team provides meaningful work opportunities for people in the community.
CLEANING SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT TO PROVIDE
Cleaning supplies and equipment is provided by the client. All cleaning equipment must be in working condition and up to our policy standards. See list below for items required:
- GENERAL: Minimum of 2 cleaning Rags
- GLASS/MIRRORS: Glass Cleaning Spray, Paper Towels
- FLOORS: Broom and a Dustpan, Mop and pail, Floor Cleaner or Soap
- BATHROOMS: Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Toilet Brush, All-Purpose Cleaner with Rag, Tub/Sink Cleanser
- COUNTERS: Cleaner (eg All-Purpose) with a Rag
- STOVE: Scrubby/Brush, Stove-top Cleaner, Oven Cleaner (if required: MUST be prepped and sprayed the day BEFORE cleaning)
- DUSTING: Swiffer Duster, Extenders and/or Rags, Furniture Polish
Please note that If proper cleaning supplies are not provided to the housekeeper, we are unable to provide further cleaning services and will be required to temporarily suspend your service. Please make sure that your cleaning supplies are replenished and maintained on a regular basis.

*Must provide a copy of current tax assessment for LOW INCOME rates. These services are eligible for Alberta's Special Needs Assistance (SNA) for Seniors program.
** Income ranges are based on the posted rates of the SNA program and may change without warning. Posted rates above were updated 2024.
SPECIAL NEEDS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
This program is eligible for Alberta's SPECIAL NEEDS ASSISTANCE.
- Low income seniors, 65 years and over, may receive financial assistance to help afford the cost of appliances and specific health and personal supports through Alberta's Special Needs Assistance Program.
- Housekeeping is a 'Personal Support' under the SNA program and there are restrictions.
- Maximum benefits may change annually and are based on the posted SNA rates. 2024 Maximum is $1,356/benefit year.
- The benefit year for the Special Needs Assistance for Seniors program starts July 1 of one year and ends June 30 of the following year.
- Reimbursement for Housekeeping Services is provided by submitting a through your MyAlberta Seniors Account. Documents provided online are the easiest and quickest way to send claims, receipts, estimates and updated information to the Special Needs Assistance for Seniors program.
- You must be Pre-Approved for the program BEFORE submitting any receipts.
