PARKDALE NIFTY FIFTIES SENIORS ASSOCIATION

Located in Calgary's NW community of Parkdale, the Super Member Activity Centre, Parkdale Nifty Fifties Seniors Association was established in 1983.  Nifty 50s provides a place where Calgary seniors 50+ can come together to enjoy social events, workshops, art classes, bridge and other activities that match their unique needs and social interests. We recognize that seniors strengthen the community and offer a place to enhance their physical, social and emotional well-being. We encourage all of our members and Super Members to visit Parkdale Nifty 50s and engage through their various events and activities and for what they are well known for: their artist workshops.

NOTE: When functions are listed as FREE, it is customary to provide a donation.

Special Events

  • Saturday, April 13th, 5:30PM: Volunteer Appreciation Dinner for volunteers of Parkdale Nifty Fifties, by invitation only.  RSVP if you have received an invitation.
  • Saturday, April 27th, 5:30PM: Indonesian Dinner - Enjoy Parkdale Nifty Fifties' fourth multicultural tribute of the year and enjoy a delicious buffet of Indonesian cuisine. Dinner is followed by a captivating ensemble of traditional Indonesian Musical Instruments.  $25/person. Register: 403-283-0620
  • Thursday, May 23rd, 1:00PM: AGM - for Super Members whose Home Centre is Parkdale Nifty Fifties, your attendance is requested.  Lunch served at 12PM for registered members. Register: 403-283-0620
  • Volunteer Call for Parkdale Nifty Fifties' Fundraising Casino at Elbow River Casino, July 11th & 12th. Multiple positions are available. To volunteer, please call our office at 403-283-0620 or email us at info@pdnf.org.

Artist Workshops

  • FULL: Saturday, April 20, 12PM - 3PM: Internet, Tech & Digital Safety - Free, donations welcome
  • Saturday & Sunday, May 25 & 26, 10AM - 4PM: Mixed Media with Marla Blackwell - Join Marla for this fun two-day workshop. Play with colours, collage and all kinds of media such as acrylics, inks, papers, stamps, etc. Use design elements such as value, shape, line and colour. Register: 403-283-0620
  • Saturday, June 8th, 10AM - 4PM: Watercolor Tips N' Tricks with Sherry Telle - During this workshop, Sherry will teach you everything you need to know about watercolour painting. $90/person. $20 Supply kits are available for purchase or a supply list can be provided. Register: 403-283-0620

  • Foot Clinic every month with Nida. Cost: $25; bring a hand towel or face cloth with you. First time visitors, bring your Alberta Health Card. Call 403-921-9077 to book an appointment directly with Nida.
  • Free Bread Market every 2nd Tuesday of the month, 11AM - 12PM, in partnership with Unison at Kerby Centre
  • Good Food Box program
  • Housekeeping Services
  • Online Store - Canvas prints, hoddies, t-shirts, mugs, etc. All proceeds used to fund programs.
  • Writer's Guild - Meeting every two weeks each month, dates vary. Each member contributes a short story for publication as a paperback, Kobo and Kindle athology. Writing process is self-editing. Members are encouraged to publish their own works; there are no publishing or editing costs.
