Course Description:
This course is designed for everyday people -not tech experts- who want to feel more confident, calm and clear when it comes to using technology. Over four weeks, we help participants choose the right tools (computer, phone, tablet) understand what features actually matter and make their tech work for the - not the other way around.
Whether you are buying your first device or just want to feel more in control, this course gives you the tools to decide what fits your real life, not the marketing hype.

Format:

  • Duration: 5 weeks (1 topic per week)
  • Session Type: In-person workshops + take-home guides
  • Extra: Optional Zoom Q&A check-in and downloadable handouts


Weekly Topics

Week 1: Choosing a Computer

  • Understand the difference between laptops, desktops, and tablets

  • Learn how to read computer specs in plain language

  • Avoid common traps when shopping or upgrading

Week 2: Finding the Right Smartphone

  • Android vs iPhone — simplified!

  • Choose a phone based on your needs (not ads or pressure)

  • Learn what features actually matter in daily use

Week 3: Tablets, eReaders, and Easy Everyday Tech

  • Compare tablets and eReaders: when to choose what

  • Explore simple apps for reading, video calling, and more

  • Understand how to reduce overwhelm and get back to enjoying tech

Week 4: Accessories & Apps That Support You

  • How to reduce eye strain and hand fatigue

  • Ergonomic tips for better comfort

  • Smart apps that simplify your life (not complicate it)

  • Understand AI and VR in plain language

  • Know the real-world uses (and limits)
