  • Course description:

    For those who have had dance (tap) for a couple of years. We now speed up our work and add to our knowledge of tap: working on traditional tap combinations, rhythm work and co-ordination.

    Instructor, Joyce Reddy, has been teaching for 60 years, started in United Kingdom as student teacher in a stage school at 15, specializing in beginner older students.

    What equipment is required by the student to bring to class?

    Tap shoes.

    What equipment will the instructor provide the students?

    Notes on tap when needed.

    What clothing is required?

    Exercise.

    What level of competency should the student be at to attend this course?

    Should have danced at a starter level for a couple of years.

    Is a partner required?

    No.

    Is this course available for drop-ins?

    Yes – for those with some past dance experience - Should have danced at a starter level for a couple of years.

    Is there anything else you would like the students to know about your class?

    Think of Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly! The class progresses each week moving to a higher level as soon as the class is ready. The class is based on traditional dance techniques and explores various tap styles from Vaudeville to modern day.
