Lawyer: Arlene K. Blake, C.Arb, BA, JD

Arlene Blake, with MacPhail Harding, obtained her law degree at the University of Calgary, and called to the Alberta bar in 2006. Her general practice is comprised of Wills and Estates, Adult Guardianship, and Real Estate along with arbritration and administrative law.  Arlene has been a member of the Alberta Arbitration and Mediation Society since 1994. She has gained inside providing legal issues which affect older persons through her completion of the Elder Law Certificate program facilitated through Osgoode Hall Law School. 

Dental Hygiene

Hygienist: Patricia's Mobile Hygiene

Patricia Cruz is a Registered Dental Hygienist in Calgary with 10 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist and 20 years combined experience in the dental field.

Patricia worked for 5 years with clients with dementia, cancer survivors and special needs.  The services she provides center around efficiency, comfort and safety.  Many older clients face health issues, mobility, seasonal or logistical challenges.

Appointments will be held in her van which will be parked at our Centre. Her van can accommodate most wheelchair sizes and has a wheelchair lift to assist clients to enter and exit the van.

A New Patient and Medical History form must be completed prior to appointments. Please pick up this form in the Office. Dental Insurance Benefits are accepted; Patrica's Mobile Hygiene will direct bill.

Please call the office at 403-289-4780 and request the service you would like.  We book appointments in a first come - first serve basis, in time order.  You will be given the next available appointment for that service.


We reserve the right to invoke a $5 cancellation fee for all cancelled appointments. Cancellation fee must be paid before your next appointment is booked.


Tax season is upon us once again and we are happy to help to file your tax returns electronically.  Through the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)'s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), we are able to offer a free tax clinic. Taxes at our location are completed by certified accountants who have completed the CRA course each year to enable them to do the CVITP.

The Tax Clinic is held on Wednesdays and Thursdays at our Centre, please call to make an appointment.

Documentations: please ensure that you bring your necessary documentations with you for the appointment:

  • Copy of your 2021 Tax Return
  • Notices of Assessment from Revenue Canada for 2021
  • Old Age Security (OAS) payment received.
  • Canada Pensions, annuities and superannuation payment from Canadian Sources
  • Alberta benefits
  • Receipts for charitable donations, medical expenses and details of foreign source pensions.

Personal limits for taxes to be completed:
1 person: $35,000 limit • 2 persons: $45,000 limit

Good Food Box

The Good Food Box (GFB) is a program under the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary where you can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at a low cost. There are no financial specifications to purchase a Good Food Box, it is available to everyone who would like low cost produce. NOTE: Our office staff has compared the cost of the large box to purchasing the produce at a grocery store. Cost savings vary between $18 - $25.

The boxes are put together and delivered by dedicated volunteers who along with The Community Kitchen desired to see individuals and families accessing affordable nutritious food.


  • Small Box - $25.00 ranging between 20-25 lbs
  • Medium Box - $30.00 ranging between 30 -35 lbs
  • Large Box - $35.00 ranging between 40 -45 lbs

Pick Up in JT's Clubhouse: Come to the Community Centre (not the arena). Down the steps, first door on the Right.  Pick up dates vary depending on the schedule Community Kitchen provides to us. Richard will let you know your pick up date upon ordering and/if any delays occur.
